Nature. Art. Design.

Studio Wylde designs architecture and interior spaces for living, working and gathering - from homes to commercial and hospitality settings. Guided by nature, art and crafted detail, we create environments that feel calm, expressive and rooted in place.

Client relationships and end-user experience drives our studio and we want you to feel in safe hands and excited by the whole process.

We believe that every project should feel beautifully designed and detail, no matter the budget.  Through the use of design concepts, materiality and careful detailing, our spaces strive to respond to the surroundings.

We want each project to feel unique and bespoke and strive to encourage sustainable approaches.

My Story.

Studio Wylde reflects more than just my name (Betty Wylde Buckman); it defines an approach rooted in context, where architecture is shaped by landscape, materiality and the rhythms of place.

I grew up on Scotland’s east coast, where the proximity of sea and mountain formed an early understanding of how terrain influences space. This developed into a focus on landscape and threshold conditions during my Masters and continues to underpin my work today. I believe that creating a strong connection between buildings and landscapes not only creates timeless designs but spaces that last in our memories.

My career has taken me through studios in Copenhagen, London and Manchester, including a senior role as an Associate at Tim Groom Architects. Leading projects across multiple sectors deepened my understanding of materials, detailing and the craft of delivery. Across these roles, I developed a design approach that is both technically grounded and inherently biophilic - connecting buildings to their landscapes through materiality, light and a strong sense of place. This formed the foundation for Studio Wylde and our approach towards architecture and interior design.
